From design to delivery, we seek to ensure our environmental footprint is limited or balanced where ever possible. Supporting research and innovation in the field of plastic recycling and limiting our carbon footprint through the installation of vehicle electric charging points at our Head Office, and nationwide showrooms.

From delivery optimisation using dynamic scheduling software to environmentally friendly products used to reduce the impact of the fuels we use to power our operations.

Our Operations

  • Our in-house delivery fleet use the latest adblue vehicles (Euro 6 Variant D) reducing the impact of harmful NOx emissions into the atmosphere by 67%, ensuring all our fleet is ULEZ compliant.
  • Our data warehouse provided by AWS is carbon neutral.
  • All lighting within our 250,000(sqft) northern warehouse internal & external has been converted to the latest ‘LED motion detect lighting’ to reduce emissions and wasted electricity.
  • Our Platinum delivery service ensures all waste cardboard is 100% recycled and reused in partnership with our waste management providers.
  • This year we continue to improve, recycling 210 metric tons of cardboard so far.
  • All plastics and aluminium are 100% recycled and re-used by our waste management providers.
  • This year to date Moda have recycled 30 metric tons of aluminium.

Our Commitment

  • Our growing national showroom portfolio will each house electrical charging points included so our customers and colleagues can share our commitment to support the climate emergency.
  • We understand how the use of plastics in the manufacture of our rattan furniture impacts the environment longer term. Supporting research into safe recycling and ongoing development of safer plastics well help make our business more sustainable and in global terms, more environmentally friendly.
  • We want our business of the future, its employees and their families to have a safe, green world to live in. Through our partnership with the Manchester City of Trees, we will show our support to address the climate emergency, whilst helping the city we love, thrive.
  • By 2022 we will be adding electric vehicles into our delivery fleet to reduce our carbon footprint further.

Our community

  • 54% of our entire workforce are employed within the Greater Manchester area. 14% based within a 2 mile radius of our head office. We are committed to supporting our local economy and community through recruiting locally and developing skills locally.
  • We have introduced a reward, recognition and and care scheme to support our workforce, PerkBox. Motivating and supporting our growing, skilled workforce is a key driver and at Moda we recognise through a healthy and engaged workforce the benefits this will have to our business in the longer term.
  • Our partnership with the award winning Friends of Philips Park Cemetery has allowed us to develop a volunteer scheme whilst providing full funding for a commemorative archway. We will continue to grow the portfolio of charities we work with locally and within range to continue to support the communities we operate in.
  • We continue to develop and explore partnerships with local charities. We are currently working with Two Brews a Northern Homelessness charity to donate a van to distribute food and drink to those who need it in Manchester City Centre. Our relationship with the local NHS strengthens through the recycling of unwanted furniture, for use in patient and family areas at Wythenshawe Community Hospital.
