Kelly is a lover of cool countryside design, with a stylish modern twist to keep things feeling fresh. Kelly (who you can find at @lifeatnumber_.10 on Instagram) joined Moda Furnishings as an ambassador in early 2023 and has been celebrating her newly Modafied outdoor living space ever since.
Lounging on her Ellis in White or relaxing in her Bondi Hanging Egg Chair, Kelly’s space is perfect for hosting friends or enjoying time with her family. And with the addition of a trio of Black Matte Lanterns, Kelly’s garden is ready to go from day to night.
We spoke to Kelly about what drew her to Moda Furnishings, where her style inspiration comes from and what’s on her wish list!
Why Moda Furnishings?
Moda has always been that luxury brand for me that I've followed for years and always dreamed of having a set of my own. They always have the nicest furniture, and it always looks incredible quality, which I can confirm it is! When you consider the quality, a Moda set is a worthy investment. And I love that you can customise some of their designs on the website to suit exactly what you want.
What made you choose your sets?
I love the neutral look of the Ellis, being a corner sofa also it fitted perfectly on our patio. I love the wooden look elements; the table was a real feature for me with the composite wood look giving it a country feel. I went for the cream as it really brightens the garden up and matches any colour if we decided to paint the fencing in the future. Being a metal frame makes the Ellis super easy to clean too and is really low maintenance!
What’s your approach to design and style?
I always go for neutral colours; they are a great base (which is why I choose my Ellis in white!) I can add throws and pillows to my Ellis to change the look and I love that I can style it with any colour, and it just matches perfectly.
Why is outdoor living important to you?
Outdoor living is particularly important for me, having two young children they always want to be in the garden, especially in the summer, and it's a great way for family and friends to come together and it's where we hold all our social events.
Favourite thing to do in your new Moda space?
Having my family together to enjoy our beautiful Ellis sofa. It's big enough that we can all relax around it and spend some quality time together. It's bringing the living room outside and I think it's great that we are able to do that.
What are your top tips for someone struggling to style their outdoor space?
My main one would be to go with what you love. If you have a neutral space and want to bring in some colour use cushions or throws where you can. Plants also make a great feature and can really change the look of your outdoor space. My favourite one is to add a couple of mirrors to the space, it really makes a space appear much bigger. Bunting and lights are affordable ways to change your outdoor space too!
What’s next on your Moda Wishlist?
Definitely a dining set! I love to eat outside as much as possible with my family and friends and we host a lot of BBQs, it would make a fabulous addition.
Kelly’s soft neutral style creates a little slice of paradise in her garden, and we can’t wait to see her continue to change up her space throughout the seasons.
